I was lucky enough to be asked to return to the majestic Boone Block building to document it's history one last time before the real work of reviving this landmark of Covington begins. The front windows had finally been installed, so there was flood of light and I was able to really take in some of the unique charm and history of the interior rooms and see some of my previous corners with a new view. Hopefully I will be getting back in with my camera throughout the process of reviving this Phoenix, so perfectly representing the constant ups and downs of Covington, its buildings, and its residents. Those of us who really care believe in it even when it is crumbling and collecting dust. We recognize that the debris and dust give the city its identity and soul. We see the potential to make the old new again, to breathe life into the death.
